03:25 pm: Adventures at Chick-Fil-A

So, I had not intended to go to Chick-Fil-A today, both because I ws out of money (just redeemed the car from new-transmission hock) and because I hate waiting in line.

But two kind folks donated money on John's blog just to pay for Chick-fil-A for the family.

So, now we are the proud owners of a slew of nuggets and fries and some ice cream shakes.

I waited until 3:00, after the lunch rush, but the lines were still amazing. The cars left Fast Food Heaven and were backed up on the access road. The line inside went twice around the place.

When I finally got up to the counter, I thanked them for their support of my son's summer school (this Chick-Fil-A had donated free ice cream coupons to ever child in the program.)

We went on Monday. Hey, we hate lines, and either day they get our money. :)

We had planned to do something similar...but since we were given money for this purpose. ;-)

We don't have a Chick-Fil-A, but I do like their chicken when we're on vacation.

I dislike greatly that two mayors who came out to say that they would keep Chick-Fil-A out of their cities. They've since backpedaled, but it's chilling that people in power would make speech a reason to shut out business.

To me, this is a freedom of speech issue.

Exactly. I was very impressed, though, with the Mayor of New York, who is extremely Liberal and a big supporter of gay marriage...yet he came out and criticised his fellow mayors and said that was not an area government should be involved with.

I may not agree with most of what he does, but that was spot on.
