Overheard At The Wright Household
After years of hints and wheedling, John is FINALLY reading the Harry Dresden books. Yesterday, Juss blurted out the dire cliffhanging ending of Book 11. John objected.
Orville: “Don’t worry, Dad. You’ll forget it.”
Dad: “I don’t forget anything except phone numbers and your names.”
Orville thinks about this carefully for a minute: “Just pretend it’s a name.”

I've loved Dresden since the first book. Our library was unfamiliar with Butcher, but a request remedied that, and now they purchase all his books. I didn't realize there were 11 already! I'm just grateful that Butcher is a prolific writer. He is one of the few contemporary fantasy writers who shows a respect toward faith in his stories, and I appreciate that greatly.

I have one cousin and one coworker in competition to borrow my collection because of my Butcher recommendations. :>)
BTW, speaking of author recommendations, did you see my recent, er, "Promotions" LJ entry?
