08:22 pm: Back on Track

Well, John is happily home from the hospital, sans appendix, and life is beginning to return to normal. We are all very grateful to "Uncle Bill" (our friend and the boy's godfather, Bill Burns) who watched the children while I hung out at the hospital with John. I lounged in a chair beside the sleeping John, reading the latest Mary Balogh book and the latest Harry Dresden book (love the series, but lousy hospital reading due to the violence level) while BIll watched my kids, who had the audacity to get sent home from school for being sick, giving Bill a lot more to do than he normally would have had to.

Bill definitely rocks.

Today, though, life returns kind of to normal. Kind of  because Orville and I had to be at his school at Peeping 6:30 in the morning to go on a field trip to Richmond. The trip was fabulous, though. My favorite part was a trip to St. John's Episcopal Church...the very church where Patrick Henry gave his "Give me liberty or give me death!" speech. We got to see a reenactment of the congress and the speech with guys in costum. Washington, Jefferson, and Richard Henry Lee (the guy who gets a song about him in 1776) were all "present."  It was terrific!

All in all, a good day!

I remember being upset about 6:30 AM. Sadly, these days, I've generally already loaded and dispatched 3 aircraft at that point. >.>

Glad things are returning to normal.

I'm glad it was a good day for you.

Me, I stepped onto a landmine of a debate and have been properly and correctly excoriated for it. To read that John is doing better is a bit of balm for my day.

Eeep! Sending my best medical mojo to John for a speedy recovery. Somehow I missed word of the appendix problem. Big healing hugs to you both, Jean Marie

It just kind of happened. I didn't announce it here, but I did post about it on John's blog. ;-)

Can you take some time for yourself this Mother's Day?

We'll be up in the area, but Steve's Dad is still in rehab, so unfortunately I think it will be brother-in-law's house (Reston), mother-in-law's house (briefly) and rehab in Gainesville.

Although we won't see you, I hope you have a fun and restful day. Best to you mom. Hugs to John.

Glad John is well; prayers coming his way and for all of you.

Trip to Richmond sounded great! I love going to historic sites, don't you?
