Best Quote Ever
Just got my first quote back on my novel, Prospero Lost. It came from James Stoddard, author of The High House (a really cool book) and winner of the 1999 Compton Crook Award (for best first novel.)
This quote reads:
"A touch of Shakespeare, a dash of Sam Spade, a truly fun read--a delightful story of a family as unique as the siblings in Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber."
I can't even imagine a better quote!
When our eldest son was born, we happened to have three friends who, by sheer coincidence, had named their children Corwin, Julian, and Benedict. John kept suggesting that we name our kid Random or Merlin. (so he'd be their king. ;-)
But Orville got named Orville, after John's dad.
Later, when Juss came along, we stuck in the Oberon. Only later did I realize we now had our Amber king. ;-)
Bleys is a great name! In myth, he was the teacher of Merlin the Magician! (And he's a cool brother, too!)
