04:27 pm: Rabid Puppies Short Fiction Book Bomb

And the slate of Lord Voxdimort:

BEST SHORT STORY

Both Rabid Puppies recommendations in the Short Story category can be read for free at the following links. I can attest that Sci Phi Journal #2 is quite good and I think the Big Book of Monsters looks particularly interesting.

I've also got a short story you can read which is not part of either slate, but I promised to make it available for free reading, so here it is:

BEST NOVELETTE

“The Journeyman: In the Stone House”by Michael F. Flynn, Analog, June 2014

“Championship B’tok” by Edward M. Lerner, Analog, Sept 2014

“Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust, Earth to Alluvium” by Gray Rinehart, Orson Scott Card’s InterGalactic Medicine Show

And the Rabid Puppies recommendation in the Novelette category:

"Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" by John C. Wright, The Book of Feasts & Seasons

The Book of Feasts & Seasons is presently ranked #15,271 54,462 on Amazon and has a 4.9 rating on 18 16 reviews. It's genuinely that good, so I'd highly recommend reading it if you haven't yet, and posting a review if you have.

Very very annoyed with the people running Castalia.

There is more to life than that, you know.

If you let yourself succumb to hatred, you become its slave. You do much more to bring attention to the thing you hate that if you turn your back on it and live your life.

Tell that to Larry Correia's poo-flingers who were harassing me the last few days.

All I'm saying is "Either the authors withdraw from Castalia House or I won't buy their works." and I encourage others to say the same.

That is fair. You shouldn't buy stuff you don't approve of.

Perhaps, some of the authors support Vox for his good points, even if they don't agree with all his opinions, so they feel that staying with Castelia House is worth the loss of sales of those who do not approve.

Do you buy these authors when they are not with CH? What do you like to read?

He has no good qualities.

He does. He's cheerful. He's courageous. Even you have to give him that. No one could talk the way he does today without a pretty good dose of courage.

He's funny.

Maybe you don't feel those are the most important qualities, but they are good qualities.

He's not funny and I don't think cheerfulness and courage are necessarily good qualities. Someone who forges papers to smuggle people out of Nazi Germany even at the risk to their own life is the good kind of courageous. Someone who posts at least ten million words worth of racism, sexism, and general unpleasantness on his blog isn't.

He is funny and cheerful in person.

You can't judge a person just by what they say online. Surely, there is more to you than just what we see online. You don't spend 100% of your time just hating Vox, do you? Isn't there time for appreciation of nature? Joy? Friends? Just quite time or reading?

The web is a place of smoke and mirrors. A great deal of what we see here is just show.
