11:05 am: Storming the Moral High Ground! — New Blog Feature. Guest Blog Opportunities!

Hey folks.

I plan to start a new Wednesday Blog Feature:

Lighting the Lamp

A blog of the Superversive Literary Movement

because fiction should not be less glorious than life

This feature will include, but not be limited to:

Inspirational stories — to help us remember what we are writing for.

Stories of perceverance in sorrow – to remind us of the undauntableness of the human spirit

Reviews of books, movies, etc that are inspiring, heroic, or merely good fun

Musings on literature, life, and other related topics — ranging widely

Anyone who would like to guest blog on some even vaguely related topic, let me know!

Review

I would like to submit a "philosophical review" I wrote of the Joss Whedon sci-fi classic "Serenity", written from a Roman Catholic perspective.

If you think that sounds interesting, first, that would be great. Second, say so and I'll e-mail you!

Sure. Send it. I'll take a look. If it qualifies (probably will...it sounds good) I can post it the last Wednesday in October.

Send it to me at gmail. Username: arhyalon

Are you going to ask Tom Simon if you can reprint his "Superversive" essay? That might help wondering souls with the term.

That would be great!

I can use a guest blogger every other Wed. I've got the first few covered. I think the next free spot would be mid-November.

Would that be okay?

Lamps under bushels

(Link)
If you think you could cope with a post from a small furry simian of no particular note, and a despicable sense of humor, I'd like do this. It's a war I've been fighting for some years now, and I am about to stick my neck out a great deal further. (I've just written, and will be bringing out in mid-November, a cosy-mystery featuring a little urban-reared and timid lady-priest, being sent to a parish far beyond the black stump. It's a fundraiser for our Island church, and quite probably the death-knell of my traditional publishing career, as pedophilia is probably more acceptable than a Christian hero is there. Ah well, I always have believed in putting my money where my mouth is, and we monkeys can forage for coconuts and bananas and tasty grubs.

I would LOVE to have you! I've had a number of requests. The next completely open Wednesday is December 3rd. Would that do?

And good for you, sir!

I shall put it on my calendar, and tell my better half (that was the half that got the memory, that also isn't wondering around an alien landscape half the time :-)).

Superversive Wednesdays

(Link)
This sounds like fun--can I get a digest emailed or do I just drop by on Wednesdays? I'm blogging at Beauty in Belief, but that's more non-fiction musings. I'd like to try short fiction in the uplifting but not preachy category....don't know if I'm up for such distinguished company, but I really love your mission statement!

Thanks!

Alas, I am not yet organized enough to have a digest form. For now, just come by. But if it goes well, maybe my Webgoblin can show me how to set something like that up.

I just heard from someone who would like to do a magazine of such stories. If it comes about, I'll post the info (and ask Sarah to post it) and you can try your hand at joining us! ;-)
