Wright’s Writing Corner: An Excerpt
Still working Wednesday mornings, so here is a very short post.
Chapter One of my current WIP, the project I am working on for the month of November:
The Unexpected Enlightenment of Rachel Griffin.
Book One: Roanoke Academy for the Sorcerous Arts
Chapter One: The Treacherous Art of Making Friends
This chapter is subject to change. The entire project is still experimental.

*Sigh*... please, please finish these books so I can read them! (This Rachel book, and the Victoria series... I really want to know what happens!) Umm... I hereby volunteer to copyedit/proofread them for you if you'll let me read them as soon as they're done? :)
On a more technical note... there's the paragraph where Rachel had imagined going to school with Sandra, having not done the math. And then two paragraphs later, Rachel is going to school a year earlier than expected. While it is, of course, possible for both those statements to be true, they produce sort of ... disjointed expectations. It would run a little smoother if you could integrate them, such as by having Rachel recognize that if she hadn't been a year ahead, she would have been two years behind Sandra graduating, instead of only missing it by one year.

The first Victoria book is done and in the hands of my editor, who told me last week that he was reading it. The Rachel book, I'm about around page 115.
Thanks for the thoughts about the math. LOL. I'll see if I can do something about that.
