03:48 pm: Miss B Vindicated!

O’ happy day! Calloo! Callay!

Miss B, the Cherubim’s wonderful teacher, who was arrested last year on charges of child abuse, is now free. The judge dismissed the case.

While this has been a horrible experience for her, Miss B is just astonished at the extraordinary outporing of support from parents of children she has taught and from some co-workers.

I am so delighted!

I feel so sorry for teachers working in such a precarious atmosphere. I have a friend who went through a terrible ordeal that has emotionally scarred him for life. (He was accused of all sorts of nonsense stemming from hugging one of his female athletes when she came off the track crying about her performace; he was exonerated in the end, but it was a terrible situation. He gave up teaching.) Another friend was forced into retirement by three horrid mothers who threatened to bring a lawsuit against her for treatment of a child who wasn't even theirs. He was an out-of-control child who had been kicked out of public school. She had grabbed his arm to keep him from disrupting the class, and the mothers who disliked her jumped at the opportunity to remove her from the school.

It's a hostile atmosphere for teachers to work under. Teachers have to be so careful not to touch their students. I'm glad your teacher came through this, but what a terrible price she paid.

So glad to hear that justice has prevailed in the end.

I recall a local case where the accused was charged with all sorts of foul deeds, only to be declared not-guilty after seven hours of deliberations. One "victim" lied on the stand to show up the therapist who questioned him, and who would not accept his initial denials that anything had gone on.

Too many people involved with the justice system are willing to lie to secure a conviction.

There was a sad case here where a good man was accused by a student. It turned out to be a lie...her friends stopped supporting her and told the truth. He was found innocent...and the school decided to have their own inquiry after this and would not take him back.

On the good side, I heard today that the principal who did this was let go.

I hope it's really over. Vindictive and stupid people sometimes get audiences, even after having been proved to be liars in open court. They just add slanders against the judge and jury to their repertoire.

Hell, Death and Damnation!! I hate being right in this kind of thing. But I've seen it happen before.

Hell and Damnation! I HATE it when people run so true to type in the worst way.
