10:29 am: Interviewed by the Intrepid Michael Kabongo!

Agent Michael Kabongo kindly interviewed my and posted the results on his blog. You can read it here.

I remember first meeting Michael at a convention in Roaknoke, so long ago that The Elf King was just a tiny little guy. Now he’ is a wild 8 year old! It was the last convention we brought any of the kids to, as they were just too wild after that. It was also the first convention where someone came and asked me for my autograph. Has a happy place in my memory.

You attended the infamous John Ringo KaliCon?

The one immortalized in Princess of Swords, where everyone was slaughtered by demons and three feet of snow fell Monday morning?

Maybe...it was Shevacon...rather like Kalicon. But I thought the con I went to with Ringo was somewhere else...him.

No, KaliCon in the novel was ShevaCon in Roanoke in February 2005. Ringo was punning.

Sharon Lee & Steve Miller attended, as did LE Modesitt, Jr.;David Drake was the GoH.

We had the Baen shotgun wedding of the Balloonatic Bomber and Quilly Mammoth.

I'm sorry, Ringo's novel was Princess of Wands. My error.

By happenstance last week I learned that Roanoke was where Audie Murphy's plane crash.

I'm pretty sure that this was 2004. The Elf King could walk, but he was definitely a toddling. By 2005, he would have been a lot more fleet of foot.
