12:05 pm: My Kids Are Talking To Each Other!

It’s so cool!!!

Orville and Ping-Ping in last year’s first big snow…as Ping-Ping learns to throw snowballs

In particular, Orville and Ping-Ping are talking. They are just saying a few things, but they never used to talk to each other at all. Orville is the most word-oriented of the bunch and Ping-Ping’s English did not used to be up to par.

Today, Orville is home because he’s ill, and I got Ping-Ping early because it’s snowing and, for reasons too long to explain here, I could not go get her later. (She grew up in a climate like Cuba. It seemed cruel to make her walk home in cold snow, especially as she wasn’t entirely properly dressed.)

They are downstairs watching Monkey de Luffy together and laughing.  They both LOVE TV like no one else I know. I wondered if that would eventually bring them together.

We had a happy snow-day miracle at our house as well. Older sister decided, w/o prompting of any sort, to give her old Nintendo hand-held to her brother. His broke a while ago.

That's not a snowball, Jagi. That's a glacier she's got there.

LOL. I'm sure her brother would agree with you.

It did take a while to get across the idea that ice was not a snowball. ;-)
