09:40 am: Wright's Writing Corner: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Years
Instead of an essay, this week, we have a photo:

How cool is that?

This is a picture from the Manassas, Virginia Barnes and Nobles Science Fiction/Fantasy.  Look closelky at the books across the top shelf. All these books are the output of two authors.   ;-)

Ooooh. I still need to pick up Prospero Lost. >.> I've almost burned through my pile, though!

Makes me want to drive up there and do some book shopping. That is so cool.

I went back more recently and John's books are there, but mine are gone. I hope that means that they sold, not that they got returned.

You should have seen us riding the bandersnatch in our shiny armor down the isles of the store! Nobody dared not buy our books!

Was it frumious? (I know the poem warns of the "frumious bandersnatch" but it's not clear in context whether that is a description like "venomous rattlesnake" or a modifier like "venomous snake.")

I confess, I check for ya'll's books every time I visit a bookstore. :D I'm just a geek like that...

(and much to my regret, I have not yet finished Prospero Lost--but I have an excuse! I've been reading the Poetic and Prose Eddas!)

It'll be there when you are done!

I am absolutely LOVING the Eddas! Not only are they fascinating on their own, but it's fun to see where the stories influenced later literature.

(I got into the Eddas because of this CD: http://www.amazon.com/Edda-Icelandic-Medieval-Iceland-Sequentia/dp/B00000IFOM/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1271972353&sr=8-15 )

Won't that be great! Ever since I've been young, I've had this dream about having a bunch of friends who all made it as writers (kind of an Inkling thing.) So I'm rooting for you to join us!!!

Very, very nice! You must be thrilled.

John...maybe not so much. His books look like little minions flanking their queen on either side. And it looks like only one of yours is there...let's hope it's because the rest are sitting on a well-used nightstand in a warm home.

Life has been really crazy here. Probably the craziest week I've had, bar going to China, in years. ;-)

Excellent, John & Jagi!

Wow, that's a shelf full of distilled giddy if I have ever seen one. Way to go, Jagi and John!
